·        Who can enrol to this course?

The qualification is aimed to those individuals who wish to demonstrate their skills and knowledge as a qualified Supervisor for Competent Person Scheme in the UK in order to register and become member with NAPIT or NICEIC, once 2 years work experience is gained alongside the completion of this course. The course covers the Topics mainly on BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations and IET Wiring Regulations) in addition to other relevant regulations. It is also aimed to be able to self-certify your own work and other peoples Electrical Installations in Dwellings.

·        How the course is structured?

The course includes theory, practical work in the Training Centre and Onsite Portfolio of two rewiring jobs or 5 different jobs (if re-wiring job isn’t completed). There student will be assessed on 8 exams during the course, first five regards the theory and the last 3 covers the practical assessment.

This qualification is a combined qualification of the following.

  • Level 1 Essential Electrises
  • Level 2 Domestic Electric Installer
  • Level 3 Initial Verification Inspection and Testing
  • Level 3 Designer
  • Level 3 BS7671:2018 ( 18TH EDITION)


Following is the detailed information regarding the Assessments:

Assessment 1 – Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation, Practices and Procedures of Electrical Installations. (Covering Q3001 & Q3002).

Assessment 2 – Planning, Preparation and Organisation of Electrical Installations (Covering Q3003 & Q3005).

Assessment 3 – Installation and Connection of Wiring Systems in Electrical Installations (Covering Q3007).

Assessment 4 – Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (Covering Q3008).

Assessment 5 – Diagnosing and Correction of Faults in Electrical Installations (Covering Q3006).

Q3004 has been distributed over all assessments.

Assessment 6 – Inspection & Testing and Fault Finding.

Assessment 7 – Design Assignment – (Distance Learning).

Assessment 8 – Onsite Portfolio (plus Onsite Assessment).

 

 

·         Qualification Units:

-      Understand and Apply Health & Safety legislation, practices, and procedures in electrical installations. LCL-Q3001.

-      Understand and Apply Environmental Legislation, working practices and the principles of environmental technology systems associated with electrical installations. LCL-Q3002.

-      Understand and Apply the practices and procedures for overseeing and organising the work environment when installing electrical installations. LCL-Q3003.

-      Electrotechnical Occupational Competence – Approval of Electrical Installations. LCL-3004

-      Understanding and applying the principles, practices and procedures for the planning, preparation, and selection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment. LCL-3005.

-      Understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for diagnosing and correcting electrical faults in electrical installations. LCL-Q3006.

-      Understand and apply the practices and procedures for the installation and connection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment. LCL-Q3007.

-      Understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for the inspection, testing, commissioning, approving and certification of electrical installations. LCL-Q3008.

 

 

·        Cost of the course:

This qualification costs £3600 ( Full Time) up to Level 3 Initial Verification and for EICR (Periodic Inspection and testing) costs Separately. This is the full time course and If any individual is interested in Part-time course, It will be provided upon request.


The total cost of the course is £3600.00 and is split in to 2 stages for easier payment. Therefore, £2600 for 4 weeks training and 2 Weeks Practical Exams And then the balance £1000 is due on the completion of the course during your practical exam. The total length of the course is minimum 6 months.
