You will be required to carry out combustion performance analysis whenever you are commissioning a new installation or recommissioning an appliance after replacing parts or servicing it.
This course consists of:
Learning to retest appliances when new components have been fitted
• Studying the unsafe situation category for flued appliance when it fails to reach its recommended combustion performance
• Studying the unsafe situation category for flueless appliance when it fails to reach its recommended combustion performance
• How to make additional allowances for CO levels in gas cookers
• Understanding the action levels for gas appliances
• To be able to understand the actions that must be taken if CO/CO2 ratio levels are above recommended performance levels
CENWAT - This course trains you to treat and install all central heating and hot water appliances. This training covers a range of things including, central heating and hot water boilers, circulators, combi-boilers, open and balanced flues, and more. You must have completed your CPA 1 in order to complete this course.

• Condensate removal and disposal
• The principle of adjustment of air to gas ratio valves
• How to complete CO and combustion ratio checks using an ECGA when commissioning a condensing boiler
• How to incorporate air to gas ratio control valve technology
• How to fit 2 or more domestic central heating boilers within a single space
Gas Reassessment Course (ACS Reassessment) - In order to maintain your Gas Safe registration, you will need to complete a gas reassessment course every 5 years. • CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
• CKR1 – Cookers
• HTR1 – Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters)
Once you have completed your gas engineering course and passed all relevant exams, you will receive a certificate stating that you are qualified in all aspects of gas safety and installation.
